2016 Hong Kong Causeway Bay Victoria Park Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival sites will each be decorated with beautiful lanterns. The carnival will showcase several festive lanterns, including an exhibition on traditional lanterns crafted by local masters and presented by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office of the LCSD to show the traditional craftsmanship of lantern making.
There will also be a thematic display entitled “It’s All About Hong Kong”, showcasing famous fairy tale figures including the Frog Prince and Cinderella visiting Hong Kong landmarks; a Mid-Autumn installation arts display by young visual artists; a Students’ Lantern Design Display; and a “Splendid Taiwan” lantern, which has been displayed at the Taiwan Lantern Carnival 2016.

Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance Parade
When the folks of Tai Hang stopped a plague with a fire dragon dance in the 19th century, they also started a tradition that has been later inscribed onto the Third National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. With about 350 performers and a 67-meter-long dragon studded with over 10.000 burning joss sticks, the Fire
Dragon will dance its way into the Victoria Park, bringing good luck and good health to everybody this year.
Also, to promote Chinese ethnic culture among residents and tourists alike, month-long lantern displays with themes are held around the Mid-Autumn Festival.
