New World Harbour Race 2013 (hkdigit-20131006-093319-01)

New World Harbour Race 2013, title – sponsored by New World Development Company Limited (New World Group) and organised by the Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association (HKASA), held on 6 October, 2013. For the newly-added Leisure Group, 1,500 swimmers, including 1,237 male and 263 female participants, will swim across Victoria Harbour, while in the Racing Group, 500 swimmers will be competing in age group categories.

Cross Harbour Race (hkdigit-20131006-085433-02)

To enhance safety measures of Habour Race, a pontoon will be placed at the finishing point to enlarge the landing space and hence shorten swimmers’ waiting time. Two sets of sonar devices, to be positioned at the intermediate gate and near the finishing point, will continue to be used to ensure swimmers’ safety.

Hong Kong New World Harbour Race (hkdigit-20131006-084805-05)

New World Harbour Race 2013 will commence at 8:30am on 6 October 2013 (Sunday). This year’s race course stretches approximately 1.5 km, from the Sam Ka Tsuen Public Pier in Lei Yue Mun, Kowloon, to the Quarry Bay Park Public Pier on Hong Kong Island. All swimmers are required to complete the race within 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Cross Victoria Harbour Race (hkdigit-20131006-093853)

Two main groupings are involved – the Racing Groups for elite and experienced swimmers, and the Leisure Groups, a new addition this year, for general competitors.

The organiser has also added the International Category under the Racing Groups to enable more international swimmers to enjoy swimming across Victoria Harbour.

For each of the individual men’s and women’s groups in the international category, the champion, the first and second runners-up and the winners of the 4th to 8th places will each be awarded a trophy and a cash prize ranging from US$400 (HK$3,112) to US$2,000 (HK$15,560).

Hong Kong Cross Harbour Race (hkdigit-20131006-091017-04)

For the other categories, the champions and the first and second runners-up will each be awarded a trophy and a cash prize ranging from HK$2,000 to HK$5,000.

Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association Harbour Race (hkdigit-20131006-090858)

The Major Sports Events Committee (MSEC) also awarded “M” Mark status to the New World Harbour Race 2013.
