Hong Kong : 21 June, 2009 – The Hong Kong Observatory has issued the standby signal number one as severe tropical storm Linfa (熱帶風暴蓮花) moves closer to the territory.
At midnight, Severe Tropical Storm Linfa was estimated to be about 420 kilometres east-southeast of Hong Kong (near 21.5 degrees north 118.1 degrees east) and is forecast to move north-northeast at about 14 kilometres per hour in the general direction of Taiwan Strait.
