Fragments of a Democracy Story (20090602-085352)

Hong Kong: 2 June, 2009 – Danish scuplator Jens Galschiot (Jens Galschiøt) who refused entry to Hong Kong donated two of his new sculptures – ” Fragments of a Democracy Story 1 & 2 (民主的碎片)” to 64-hour Hunger Strike students and independent pan-democrat lawmaker Cyd Ho Sau-lan at Times Square in Causeway Bay. The sculputres about 75 centimeters in height were inspired by his original creation, The Pillar of Shame (Skamstøtten) , arrived in 1997 and displayed at the University of Hong Kong commemorating those who died in the 1989 military crackdown.

Sons of Jens Galschiot – Lasse Galschiot Markus and Kasper Galschiot Markus  donated one of the sculpture to  Crystal Chow Ching (周澄)  – Secretary General of Hong Kong Federation of Students.
