HONG KONG – 22 Aug., 2008 – The Hong Kong Observatory announces that the Tropical
Cyclone Warning Signal Number 8 is expected to be issued at or before 8:00 a.m. today. Winds locally will strengthen further.
At 7 a.m., Typhoon Nuri was estimated to be about 170 kilometres southeast of Hong Kong (near 21.4 degrees north 115.5 degrees east) and is forecast to move northwest or west-northwest at about 14 kilometres per hour towards the Pearl River Estuary.
